The Art of a Crafty Costume
A Happy Halloween Morning to you!
I hope you have plans set for a fun/scary/delightful evening full of smiles and delicious food.
Or perhaps you “celebrate” Halloween by relaxing at home with your porch light pitch black.
Since I have kids of Trick-or-Treating age, over the years I have had to find ways to relax (which is my predilection) while also walking about town. I have developed the habit of “dressing up” as some version of A Knitter.
Some years, I just throw on a shawl and take my sock knitting on the go. Other years I get a bit more involved. Sometimes I’m Lorelai Gilmore, and I wear every knit I can fit on my body and carry a coffee. Othertimes I’m a Knit Witch, and I wear every knit I can fit on my body, add on a witch hat, and take my sock knitting on the go.
Whatever form my “costume” takes, I level up my daily identity so I can essentially be myself. And most importantly, I GET TO KNIT!
Boring? Perhaps. Missed opportunity? I don’t think so. In fact, I feel like I’m making the most of the occasion by continuing to do what I love, and no one can tell me I can’t!
