Looking forward to casting on for Echo Lodge Socks, but...... I'm not a huge fan of toe-up socks. What would suggest for top-down in terms of the pattern?
Hi, Dianne! I hope you will try knitting them toe-up—they might surprise you!!! BUT, if you have your heart set on top-down, you could knit the chart in the reverse, paying attention to the placement numbers on the front of the sock, and knit your preferred top-down style. Enjoy!

Thank you for the pattern and opening day discount as well as book suggestions! Your post on getting bucked off a unicorn grabbed my attention the second I saw it - you've just made my TBR list a little longer. Haven't been reading much fantasy in recent years so am looking forward to casting on and stopping by my library to pick up Skandar (it just seems like a book to read in hardcopy as opposed to ebook...)
Lovely pattern, Jocelyn!!! Looking forward to knitting it and THANK YOU for the discount. Toe-up has never been a favorite of mine because of the heel and bind-off. It sounds like you've solved the heel problem. I seem to be able to get a perfectly stretchy, not-too-loose, not-too-tight cast-on for top-down socks but my bind-off for toe-up socks tends to be too tight. I'm looking forward to giving this a try and perfecting that bind-off.
